2024 Singapore SAEIS release, primary school group acceptance rate record high

2024.04.26

This year's S-AEIS results are officially released! The admission rate of the Singapore primary school group is really amazing! Almost all children who enter primary school can be admitted. However, the acceptance rate of the secondary school group has been mediocre, especially in Secondary One, which is still difficult, and the acceptance rate of Secondary two is relatively higher. From this list, we have summarized several major phenomena.

01The admission rate for grades P1-4 is close to 100%

In this S-AEIS release, we found that the admission rate of government primary school students is very high, and the admission rate of P1-P4 grades is very high, almost close to 100%. In contrast, this year's secondary school admissions results are slightly less impressive. This largely proves two things.

First, prepare for the Singapore government school, the earlier the better, the primary school stage competition is small. Not only through this examination, but looking back at the examinations of previous years, on the whole, the admission situation of primary schools is generally better than that of secondary schools. This is because the exam in primary school is less difficult, and students are not too difficult to prepare for the exam, and it is easy to adapt and keep up with the progress. On the contrary, the middle school stage is more difficult to prepare for the exam, and the probability of passing the exam is smaller.

Second, the earlier you plan for test preparation in elementary school, the better

Everyone should understand, Singapore government primary school English subject changed to CEQ: KET/PET, students after passing the CEQ exam, have the opportunity to participate in the AEIS/S-AEIS math exam. However, many parents did not make clear the exam time node in advance, missed the CEQ preparation or exam, and thus missed the math exam. Therefore, once parents have made the decision to prepare their children for the government primary school, they should quickly help their children plan their time and prepare in advance to avoid missing the exam that year.

02Chinese students already studying in Singapore have a higher pass rate

In this year's S-AEIS examination, there are many candidates who are already studying in Singapore, most of them are studying in private schools - primary and secondary schools or Holy Law schools, but also some are studying in international schools, preparing for the Government school entrance examination, and these students will perform better overall.

03 Higher math bar, lower acceptance rate

Because these students have adapted to the language environment of Singapore in advance, with a certain amount of language and basic accumulation, it is easier to pass the entrance examination of government schools. After the AEIS reform, the primary school group only needs to pass the mathematics exam again. At the beginning of the reform, the passing rate of AEIS mathematics was as high as 90%, but this time, the passing rate of mathematics is relatively lower. Why?

First, officials may have raised the difficulty of math tests to raise the bar and screen for better students.

Secondly, many parents believe that for Chinese children, the biggest problem in AEIS exam is English, and math is basically OK, so after passing the CEQ exam, there are some relaxed.

In fact, the math exam is not only the Chinese paper into the English paper so simple, in the question type, answer skills, examination are different, need students to spend a lot of time to study and do the questions, if the enemy, then the exam is likely to fail.
