Three principles: the king is the minister's principle, the father is the son's principle, and the husband is the wife's principle.

The three principles are the important thoughts of Chinese Confucian ethical culture. Confucianism has played a very important role in the long feudal society by maintaining social ethical and moral relations and political system through education.

Three principles were formally put forward: Dong Zhongshu, a great scholar of the Gongyang School of Spring and Autumn in the Western Han Dynasty, combined the religious views of heaven and Taoism since the Zhou Dynasty with the theories of Yin-yang and five elements, absorbed legalism, Taoism and Yin-yang thoughts, and established a new ideological system, which became the official ruling philosophy of the Han Dynasty.
