School Overview

The Singapore University of Social Sciences (" SUSS ") is a public applied research university located in the Golden Boon Thai District of Singapore.

Its predecessor dating back to 1964, it was incorporated into the scope of the Ministry of Education of Singapore in 2017, officially becoming a public university in Singapore, and changed its name to Singapore University of Social Sciences, and in January 2024, changed its name to Singapore University of Social Sciences under the adjustment of the brand strategy upgrade.

The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) is one of the six statutory public universities under the Higher Education Commission of the Ministry of Education of Singapore, and is a pioneer of applied education and lifelong learning in Singapore's higher education institutions.

It has always been committed to providing students with educational and research opportunities in a wide range of social science fields, cultivating talents with an international perspective, innovative thinking and social responsibility.

The Singapore University of Social Sciences has five schools, whose research fields cover political science, economics, sociology, psychology, media studies, law and other disciplines. With nearly 100 undergraduate and graduate programs, SUSS serves tens of thousands of students each year with flexible, modular and interdisciplinary learning models that meet the diverse needs of recent graduates and working students. To date, more than 47,000 graduates have studied at the Singapore University of Social Sciences.

Institutional advantage

The Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) has been accredited by the Ministry of Education of China, becoming one of the many accredited public universities and institutions in Singapore.

Compared to other institutions of higher learning in Singapore, the HONS programme offered by the New University of Social Sciences will have a high degree of flexibility, allowing students to complete their studies in three to six years.

All students are required to have a minimum of 24 weeks of internship prior to graduation, as well as a minimum of 80 hours of service learning participation.

To enable students to better understand the skills they have learned between work and study. In addition, different from the large and comprehensive curriculum of traditional business schools, the New University of Social Sciences has further adjusted the types of business courses, introducing more professional, more detailed and more practical subjects to meet the requirements of business in the new era.

The school has Humanities and Social Sciences, Business, Law, President Nadan College of Human Development and College of Science and Technology.

There are also consulting research institutions, Applied Research Center, Continuing Professional Education Center, Education and Learning Center, New Leap China Academic Center and other research institutions.

SUSS has five schools, two of which are graduate schools.

The School of Literature and Behavior offers bachelor's to doctoral programs in Chinese literature, comparative literature, translation studies, psychology, sociology, and Behavioral Sciences.

The Business School offers courses in accounting, finance, business data analysis, logistics and supply chain management, marketing, Social security and Visual communication.

Nadan College of Human Development offers seven major courses, including Social Work, Early Childhood Education (Preschool education), counseling, General Studies, Human Resource Management, Communication Studies and Education.

The College of Science and Technology offers courses in information technology, multimedia, electronic engineering, aerospace, military science, mathematics and environmental engineering.

The program covers bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs.

The Law School offers the Bachelor of Laws degree LLB and the Juris Doctor legal program.

As a leading educational institution in Singapore, SUSS has a well-equipped campus environment, it is committed to meeting the learning, entertainment and social needs of students, the complex is distributed in two campuses at Kam Boon Tai Road and Nam Lee Road, with a total floor area of about 120,000 square meters.

SIM HQ at Kim Boon Tai Road is SUSS 'headquarters campus and SUSS' largest campus with a total area of about 110,000 square metres. It consists of four buildings - blocks A, B, C and D - as well as an atrium, promenade and spacious courtyard.

In addition, SUSS does not provide accommodation for students. SUSS has nearly 80 student clubs to choose from, including performing arts, International, Special interest, and Sports and fitness. SUSS has always believed that healthy, balanced and effective people do better in life. In addition to learning in the classroom, SUSS 'Global Learning program allows students to enhance their global competitiveness through global service learning programs and internship opportunities abroad. These experiences have given them a deeper understanding of various issues from around the world. The Global Study program is divided into academic and non-academic types and is open to full-time and part-time undergraduate students. In addition, in the course of study, SUSS also includes internship as part of the full-time course, which takes at least 24 weeks to complete.
